Employers Responsibilities:

A valid MOT certificate for company vehicles is only the start, Health and Safety legislation requires employers, and the self-employed, to ensure, so far as is reasonably practical, the health, safety and welfare of all employees, at all times. Employers also have a responsibility to ensure that others are not put at risk by the work activities of their employees.

Although each driver is ultimately responsible for their driving behaviour and conduct, their employer may also have an influence over their employees' driving style. Unrealistic delivery/meeting schedules, inadequate training and failure to adequately maintain company vehicles all increase the risk of road accidents.

The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require all employers to carry out risk assessments to the health and safety of their employees whilst they are at work and to others who may be affected by their work related driving.

Our courses can combine both theory and practical advice and instruction. The theory training covers risks to individuals and offers coping strategies tailored to each driver and their organisation's requirements. The practical in-car assessments and training increase awareness regarding each driver's personal responsibilities.
